Getting ready for my adventure!
I am in the process of packing for my trip and preparing for the adventure! Below is my China itinerary:
Friday, February 26: Fly from the US to Beijing Capitol International Airport (Beijing, China).
Saturday, February 27: Arrive in Beijing, China. Students will be met by a chartered bus and transported to their hotel. Check-in at hotel with a little time to settle in.
HOTEL: Novotel Xin Qiao
Evening: Light snacks at the hotel
Sunday, February 28: Breakfast: Will be provided each morning at the student’s hotel.
Morning: Bus Tour of Beijing and Sight-Seeing. Chartered with an English speaking guide to provide the students with an overview and history of the city.
Morning: Forbidden City Visit – The Forbidden City is at the center of Beijing and much of Beijing’s culture. Student’s will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful walled city and its many highlighted attractions within.
Lunch: Provided during the tour.
Afternoon: Chinese Tea Culture – A visit to one of Beijing’s famous tea houses. Presenter will discuss the history and business of tea in China.
Evening: Traditional Chinese Foot Massage
Monday, March 1: Morning: Great Wall Visit – The Great Wall of China is known throughout the world. Students will visit the Great Wall and walk on its historic stones.
Lunch: Provided directly following the Great Wall visit.
Afternoon: Shopping in the Silk Market – Beijing has a few local markets where visitors can find a number of treasures to return home with. One of the most famous is the Beijing Silk Market, home to beautiful silks as well as many other fine goods.
Dinner: Traditional Peking Duck Dinner
Tuesday, March 2: Morning: Multinational Company Visit in Beijing– (DAIRY QUEEN) A plant tour and opportunity to speak with the management from a large multinational company in Beijing.
Lunch: Provided at or near the company facility.
Afternoon: Multinational Company Visit in Beijing– (SODEXHO) A plant tour and opportunity to speak with the management from a large multinational company in Beijing.
Evening: Chinese Acrobatics Show – China’s cultural performance history is an intriguing one with many contemporary performances to attend. One of the most appealing for visitors is the Chinese Acrobatics Show, which involves amazing feats of human strength and ability.
Wednesday, March 3: Morning: Travel to Hong Kong, China – Bus transportation to the airport and travel by air to Hong Kong. Students will be met by a chartered bus and transported to their hotel.
HOTEL: L’Hotel
Dinner: Traditional Dim Sum Dinner
Thursday, March 4: Morning: Bus Tour of Hong Kong and Sight-Seeing. Chartered with an English speaking guide to provide the students with an overview and history of the city.
Lunch: Provided during the tour.
Afternoon: Hong Kong Stock Exchange Visit - Visit the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Asia’s third largest in terms of market capitalization behind only Tokyo and Shanghai. Entering the 2008 fiscal year the Hong Kong Stock Exchange had 1,241 listed companies with a combined market capitalization of $2.7 trillion. Explore the pulse of Hong Kong’s business center as those figures continue to increase drastically.
Friday, March 5: Morning: Multinational Company Visit in Hong Kong– (HONG KONG DISNEYLAND) A plant tour and opportunity to speak with the management from a large multinational company in Hong Kong.
Lunch: Provided at or near the company facility.
Afternoon: Lantau Island Cruise - Enjoy an excursion to Lantau Island, the largest island in Hong Kong. Begin your tour with a visit to Po Lin Monastery, originally constructed by three Buddhists in 1924. Climb nearly 268 steps to reach the world’s tallest, outdoor, seated bronze Buddha, measuring 75 feet tall and weighing more than 200 tons. Then take a stroll along the Wisdom Path, a prayer carved into three tree trunks.
Saturday, March 6: Fly from Hong Kong International Airport (Hong Kong, China) to the US. Bus transportation will be provided for all students from the hotel to the airport.
